Meet the Coach
Marilyn B Silver, Ph.D, is Founder and President of Greenlight Your Life, LLC, a company specializing in Professional Development Coaching and Consulting Services for Work, Career and Beyond.
I teach you to turn red lights to green and achieve your goals by learning to better understand yourself, your workplace changes, and the challenges you face in today’s global business environment. And when your goals lead to early retirement or second careers, I help you to make a smooth transition.
I work with both individuals and companies. The individuals I coach typically seek to improve their performance in their current job or to find a more satisfying and fulfilling career. The companies that I work with frequently are concerned about “saving” a struggling, recently promoted executive or a talented employee who is simply not meeting expectations.

On a Personal Note
 |
My career path has taken me from teacher and writer to trainer, manager, director, vice president, consultant and coach. I’ve also been a speaker and presenter. My greatest professional experience was helping to lead the team that designed, developed and implemented the nation’s 21st century electronic occupational information system (O*NET) for the US Department of Labor. This award-winning Web-based resource directly impacts the lives of millions of people in career transition every year.
On my own time, I’m someone who loves to learn and grow. Jane Austen and Zadie Smith are two favorite authors. One of my greatest joys is traveling. I’ve been to the Going-to-the-Sun Highway in Glacier National Park, to the 11th Century Historic Salt Mine in Wieliczka, Poland and to the Great Wall in China, and loved every minute of it. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 33 years and I’m the mother of a terrific 28 year old son. Now as a professional development and career coach, I feel that I am living my dream job — doing something that I love, that truly interests me and that I know makes a difference — by helping others to live their lives more fully with increased happiness and passion. |
